They ended up in different rooms, Sam in the "Green Room" and Everett in the "Blue Room," which is no big deal. Although they really don't cross paths during the day, Sam seems to have convinced himself that they do -- and often. When I ask him in the morning who he will see at school that day, he invariably responds, "Everett!" And he still insists to this day that he is in the Blue Room, Everett's room. What's up with that? Is this a platonic toddler crush? What would Dr. Spock or, better yet, Freud have to say about this?
"Sam has eyebrows," Sam announced from his throne in the backseat yesterday as we were driving along.
Tempted to chuckle, I responded, "Mommy and Daddy have eyebrows, too."
"And Everett has eyebrows," Sam replied dreamily.
Yup, that's a crush all right.
