Introducing the Tooth Fairy!

Yes, it finally happened -- Sam lost his first tooth!  It happened quite randomly last night while using his teeth to separate two LEGOs.  Poof!  And it was gone!  Very appropriate given his LEGO-obsessed brain, body, and entire existence on Earth.

At first he was all freaked out and upset about missing a tooth.  Then he had an epiphany!  He realized this meant the Tooth Fairy would come and give him some money to put towards -- you guessed it -- more LEGOs!  What a deal!  His theory was that she arrived on a big tooth brush with wings.  Maybe this will get him to brush better...

Alas, the tooth was missing, so we had to write a note to the Fairy explaining it all.  Sam was convinced it had "exploded" in his mouth and then disappeared.  Of course I'm thinking the obvious -- he swallowed it.  We checked all the nearby LEGO bins out to see if it had landed in there with no luck.

There was a distinct up-side to all of this drama -- he was dying to go to bed early so the Tooth Fairy could come.  Likewise we were dying for that to happen whatever it cost us in Tooth Fairy Bucks.  Now we are already looking forward to the next tooth -- him for more cash and us for another early bedtime.  Bring it on, Tooth Fairy!

PS The Tooth Fairy did leave him a note telling him not to use his teeth to pry LEGO pieces apart.
