A springy-y snow day! It's hard to believe that Richmond, VA, had a snow day during the last week of March, but it's the truth. Here is the cold, white evidence - SNOW! We have embarked on a fifth season -- Spinter, a unique mesh of spring and winter. Maybe there is hope for the Guinness Book of World Records...
There's Sam in his snow fort, built for a midget of course! Good thing I hadn't chucked all of the winter gear into the attic abyss yet, because it got one more workout. Hopefully it is the last for this spinter. Please?
Good news - I think Sam is ready to go back to school after I dragged him to the grocery store for a full shop, not just picking up a couple of things. By the time we left, he was muttering things like, "If we don't leave now, I'm going to die." I think he meant it, too. Too bad his mother is such a comparison shopper. Oh, and then I made him take a shower during the day -- the NERVE and the UNFAIRNESS of it all!
However, he did get me to cave on buying "blue" Sun Chips. Choose your battles, right? At least they are healthier than Goldfish, maybe anyway. Oh, I also caved on some (radioactive?) blue Peeps. That is NOT a shade found in nature, even in the turquoise waters of the Caribbean. Then again, none of the Peeps shades come from nature, do they? That's a comforting thought. And then there was that bag of Laffy Taffy jelly beans. (Since when does Laffy Taffy make jelly beans? Since right about now, I guess. And yes, I am the sucker who buys them.)
All in all, it was not a bad haul for the dude, all things considered. That was his reward for not running anyone over with the shopping cart, although there were several heart-thumping near misses. That thing is a WEAPON, man! I think everyone's ankles were much safer once we left. In fact I KNOW that everyone's ankles were much safer once we left. So what if we forgot the eggs?
This is not Sam in the shopping cart, but he sure wishes it was! Dream big today, boy, because tomorrow you will be back at school -- hopefully!!

PS That photo came with the line "Occupy Wal-Mart can't seem to take off" from www.thewisecracker.com. I truly LOL-ed at that one!
